Getting Cinergy Software off the ground

Charles, Andrew, Pearson, and Jordan discuss what they learned from the Props crew of The Diplomat.

How can we build software that genuinely helps my colleagues in the Film and Television industry? This is a question we have been exploring for some time. We have been interviewing, designing, building, testing, and iterating, constantly asking ourselves:

“Does this tool address the needs of those in Film and TV Art, Set Decoration, and Props? Does it help Prop Masters collaborate more easily with their crew?”

This past week, we set out again to investigate why there isn’t software that effectively serves our production community. While various software options exist, we would use them if they truly met our needs. But we are still working with five different platforms and copy/pasting our way through our work days.

Some of our Cinergy team members gathered at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn to engage directly with the professionals we aim to support. The opportunity to bring our Toronto-based development team together with my Diplomat team was invaluable!

We look forward to launching Cinergy soon. If you are in the Props department, check out our special page just for you; cinergy.app/props
